Websites for researchers, journals and institutions
From a one-page academic portfolio to a full journal system or online bookstore, Scripown designs, builds, hosts and supports your website, so you can focus on your work while your online presence works for you.
Why a researcher, journal or institution needs a proper website
Today a reviewer, a student, an editor or a funding body will search for you before they write to you. What they find decides how seriously they take your work. A clear, fast and trustworthy website is the simplest way to make that first impression count.
A website also does real work for you: it lists your publications, receives manuscript submissions, announces your conference, collects enquiries, sells your books and keeps your work discoverable on Google long after a social media post has disappeared.
Because Scripown is itself an academic publisher, we understand ISBN, DOI, ISSN, peer review, indexing and ethics policies. We build sites that fit these needs, not just generic pages. Our delivery team combines in-house designers with experienced custom web development specialists.

What we build
Choose the type of website that matches your goal. Each one is designed, built and tested for you.
Portfolio & academic profile website
Your own home on the internet: who you are, what you research, what you have published and how to reach you.
About, research interests and teaching
Publications list with DOI and Google Scholar / ORCID links
A portfolio website is your professional identity online. Instead of sending a long email with attachments, you share one link that opens a clean page with everything a reader needs.
What a good portfolio contains
Home / introduction: your photo, designation, institution and a two-line summary of your work.
Research & publications: books, chapters and articles with DOI links, plus your Google Scholar, ORCID, ResearchGate and Scopus profiles.
Teaching & projects: courses, supervision, grants and collaborations.
CV download & achievements: awards, talks, memberships and media coverage.
Contact: a protected form, so you receive messages without publishing your email address to spammers.
Why it helps: it improves how you appear when someone searches your name, supports job, promotion and grant applications and gives your published books and chapters a permanent home.
In detail
The journal website
A journal website is more than a list of PDFs. Authors, reviewers, editors and indexing services all look for specific information and a clear workflow.
Editorial board: editor-in-chief, associate editors and reviewers with affiliations.
Author guidelines & submission: templates, formatting rules and an online submission form.
Peer-review workflow: assigning reviewers, tracking status and recording decisions.
Issues & archive: volumes, issues and article pages with abstract, keywords, DOI and PDF.
Policies: publication ethics, plagiarism, open access, copyright and APC / fee statement.
See it in practice:Scripown publishes academic journals of its own. Browse our journals to see how these pages come together.
Website basics, explained simply
New to websites? These are the terms you will hear. You do not need to master them. We handle all of it for you.
Domain name
The address people type, like yourname.com. You rent it yearly. It should be short, easy to spell and registered in your own name so that you always own it.
Web hosting
The computer (server) that stores your website files and shows them to visitors 24 hours a day. Good hosting means fast pages and fewer outages.
SSL certificate (https)
The padlock in the browser. It encrypts the data between your visitor and your site and is required for trust, payments and a good Google ranking.
Admin panel / CMS
A private dashboard where you add pages, change text, upload photos or publish articles yourself, without writing code.
Responsive design
Your website adjusts automatically to mobiles, tablets and desktops. Most visitors now arrive on a phone, so this is not optional.
SEO (search visibility)
Clean structure, fast loading, proper titles and descriptions and schema markup so Google can understand your pages and show them to the right people.
Speed & performance
Compressed images, lean code and caching. Slow websites lose visitors within seconds and are ranked lower.
Analytics
Free tools such as Google Analytics and Search Console that tell you how many people visit, from where and what they read.
Security & backups
Protection against spam and hacking, plus regular backups so a mistake or attack never means starting from zero.
How your project works
A clear five-step process, so you always know what happens next.
1
Discover
You tell us your goal, audience and examples you like. We reply with questions and a fixed written quote.
2
Design
You see the pages designed before any coding starts, and we refine them with your feedback.
3
Develop
We build the website and its admin panel with clean, fast, secure code. No heavy bought templates.
4
Test & launch
We test on real devices, then set up your domain, hosting and SSL and take the site live.
5
Support & grow
Training, fixes, updates and, if you want it, SEO and new features as you grow.
What is included in every website

Technology, in plain words
We choose the tool that fits your goal rather than forcing every project into one template:
PHP, CodeIgniter & Laravel for secure, fast, custom-built sites and portals.
WordPress when you want a familiar editor and many ready plugins.
React, Next.js & Node.js for modern, app-like experiences.
MySQL databases that store your articles, orders and users safely.
Payment gateways such as Razorpay for books, fees and registrations.
There is no single price list, because a five-page portfolio and a journal platform are very different projects. Instead, every project gets a fixed written quote after we understand your pages, features and timeline, and the quote does not grow with surprise add-ons.
Share your budget range in the form. If it is tight, we will suggest a smart first version that can grow later. You can also compare website packages from our development team before you decide.

Frequently asked questions
I am a professor / researcher. Do I really need a personal website?
A personal website is the one page that you control. It collects your publications, projects, talks and contact details in one place, ranks when someone searches your name and supports grant, job and collaboration applications. Social profiles and university pages can change or disappear; your own domain stays yours.
What do you need to start a journal website?
A journal name, the subject scope, an editorial board, author guidelines and your ethics and plagiarism policies. We build the pages, the submission and review flow and the issue/article archive, and can show the ISSN and DOI the way indexing services expect. If you do not have these documents yet, we can help you draft the page structure.
How much does a website cost?
It depends on the number of pages and features, so we give a fixed written quote after a short discussion. A simple portfolio costs far less than a journal system or an online store. Tell us your budget range in the form and we will suggest what fits.
How long does it take?
A simple portfolio or business site can often be ready in one to two weeks, a journal or institution website usually takes a few weeks, and custom portals take longer. The timeline is agreed in the quote.
Will I be able to edit the website myself?
Yes. Every website comes with an admin panel and a short training, so you can change text, add pages, upload files and publish articles without needing a developer.
Who owns the domain and the website?
You do. The domain is registered in your name and you receive the access details for your hosting and admin panel.
Do you provide hosting, SSL and support after launch?
Yes. We set up the domain, hosting and SSL certificate when the site goes live and can continue with maintenance, backups, updates and SEO afterwards.
Can you improve or redesign my existing website?
Yes. Send us the link in the form. We review what is slow, outdated or hard to use and tell you whether a redesign or smaller fixes will serve you better.
